The 2004 partnership

UNICEF was founded in 1946 upon the initiative of the United Nations General Assembly and strives to provide assistance to children of any race, religion, nationality or political opinion.

Today, UNICEF focuses on 4 main areas: health, nutrition, water and education. Since 1946, great progress has been accomplished by UNICEF but there is still a lot to do. For example, almost 1 billion people are illiterate. This figure is unacceptable, as without education, a child has no future. This is why UNICEF and Clairefontaine have together created a range of notebooks.

By buying the Clairefontaine - UNICEF notebooks you help UNICEF to achieve its mission.

The partnership 2004

Clairefontaine was proud to donate € 243,000 to UNICEF in February 2005. These funds were generated by the sale of 2.3 million notebooks, 11,590 e-cards and 3,833 UNICEF notebooks.

The 2004 project under the slogan "Going to school is my freedom" generated funds in the following three ways:

  • The proceeds of the purchase of every Clairefontaine notebook marked with a "Going to school is my freedom" sticker were donated to UNICEF;
  • One e-card sent = €0.10 for UNICEF;
  • 10% of the sales generated by an exclusive range of ten notebooks illustrated with photos of children was donated to UNICEF.
Clairefontaine will renew its partnership with UNICEF in 2005, under the slogan "Your culture is my gain", so that all the world’s children can have access to quality education.
